Hi all,
In the context of this discussion, with the scarcity of records during the January/February time frame, I started to question a record that myself and two friends had of Mangrove Kingfisher at Malindi (exact location unknown) early in February in 2012. Fortunately, one of the guys had taken photographs and I attach two here now.
Looking at the photos, I am no longer convinced that this is of a Mangrove Kingfisher (could it be Brown-hooded?) but would like the experts to take a look and confirm what species this is?
