Just to follow up on this one, on 10th April a male Tacazze Sunbird was seen in City Park during the CISCA (Citizen Science in Africa) workshop field excursion. Interesting that within 8 months there have been two records of Tacazze around Nairobi. Suggestions of climate change?

The data being collected through the African Bird Atlas / Kenya Bird Map will allow us to pick up such trends in species distribution change and we are reaching the stage where we will be able to start telling some very interesting stories about our bird movements and populations. Dear All,

For those who bird in the Nairobi area, an immature male Tacazze Sunbird was photographed at the snake park at NMK on 25 August. Of the four Nectarinia sunbird that occur in Nairobi this is by far the rarest, with only 1 or 2 previous records.
