Thanks Neil,
Unfortunately, we didn’t take any photos of the bird we had, so I am no help to you there.
Reading your 2017 email below, do I take it that your view/current thinking is that there is a large intergrade zone for the two forms? Would the presence of hybrids not also imply the presence of pure birds as a parent?
Many thanks
Kieran

Dodson’s Bulbul
I’m not at all sure this form reaches Tanzania. In the extreme NE one can find birds that suggest hybrids between this and our common and widespread Yellow-vented but do pure dodsoni occur ?
Photographs would be very much appreciated and does anyone know how far south this form is found in Kenya.

any photos ? there is surely a quite wide hybrid zone BUT.
What do they do with this form in Kenya ? how close to Tanzania does anyone see GOOD Dodson's ?
cheers
Neil

Hi all,
Can someone enlighten me as to the status of Dodson’s Bulbul in Tanzania, please?
Britton seems to state that they occur in extreme northern Tanzania but no one of the other works seem to agree with this?
