Subject: Re: [KENYABIRDSNET] taxonomic question on Grey-headed Silverbill, seen in Kijabe on 11 April

Hallo Jeff,

Apologies for the missing species. The app has just been upgraded to cover the continent. We have realised some missing species in there and are correcting this as we come across.

I have copied Henk here, who will add it in the app.

Happy birding and happy mapping.

This morning I had my first sighting for Kijabe of Grey-headed Silverbill (Zimmerman et al.). BirdLasser only lists African Silverbill and with a different Genus species than Zimmerman et al.

I was not aware of the name change and am wondering if the new taxonomy now groups African with Grey-headed (as named in Zimmerman et al.)?

These clearly had the white rump. Thanks,

Jeff
