I had a quick visit to Amboseli and immediately wished I had planned more time. With the recent extraordinary rains the Amboseli marshes are very lush and there is plenty of water in a series of beautiful ponds choke-full of birds. They included glossy Ibis, jacana, herons, numerous blacksmith and long-toed plovers, and numerous waders and ducks. The grassland was peppered with white storks in all directions and barn swallows filled the air.
There were numerous Grey Crowned Crane, including a pair we saw with 3 young and a juvenile Saddle-billed Stork.
