Subject: 2015 Red List Changes for bird species in Africa

Hello

Thought a good idea to share with you fyi, changes that happened in the new 2015 IUCN Red Listing of birds announced on 29th October. These can be found at http://www.birdlife.org/globally-threatened-bird-forums/2015/10/global-iucn-red-list-for-birds-2015-changes/ In the attached file, I’ve filtered species relevant to Africa. Speaking non-technically, normally species are listed into categories according to their level of threat (see what each of the categories mean at http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/info/spcredcat) . BirdLife is the authority that assists IUCN with this listing for birds, something that is reviewed periodically based on new information. The latest update was released on 29th October and you can see in attached the species that changed categories of threat from 2014 to 2015.

Regards
Kariuki
