There's a valley between Arusha and Ol donyo Sambu (sorry didnt get GPS coordinates) where the migrants seem to pass through in numbers. On our way through to Nairobi on the 11th March the wires had many (50plus) Euro Rollers. On the way back not so many rollers but 150 plus lesser kestrels ( possibly some Commons but no definite ID on those) and a Steppe Eagle.Willow warblers coming through and our resident Euro bees seem to have moved on. Nightingales and Spotted Flys still around.Fiona

We’ve been seeing flocks fairly regularly for the last 2 weeks or more - Ngurdoto, ANP boundary.Richard

Dear Chris,
I have been doing daily bird survey work in our back paddock for most
days mid-October through to this morning. Eurasian Bee-eaters have
been daily, and a few groups come in during the course of the day so
we have never been without Euro Bee-eaters for the entire period. This
morning we had birds four times, but they are quite low, and in all
honesty it looks like we still have the wintering birds, and no high
and direct flying flocks have as yet made an appearance, so I feel
that we are not getting any sign of northward movement yet, as late as
it seems.
Best for now
Brian
