LARGE REAR-FANGED SNAKES POSTED

Dear Friends and Herpetological Colleagues,

With profuse apologies for the delay (we have been very busy, and I have been getting to grips with the complete computerisation of  our college results system!), we’re delighted to announce the posting of the latest Kenya Reptile Atlas instalment; the large rear-fanged snakes.  Go to www.kenyareptileatlas.com and then to downloads.   It’s at the top.  This latest posting includes the boomslang, vine snake and Blanding’s tree snakes.  It’s not a natural group, four Colubrids and 2 Lamprophids, but the Atlas thus now covers all of Kenya dangerously venomous snakes.  As always, it’s free.  Please have a look, download, spread the word, enjoy and use it as you see fit.  You will see 14 different colour phases of boomslangs, and our take on the knotty vine snake problem in eastern Kenya.    And some really expert herpetological photographers have allowed us to use their images, our grateful thanks extend to them.  As always, we sincerely hope it is useful!  Next up;  Kenya’s agamas.

Thank you all.  Please enjoy,

With kind regards and best wishes,

Stephen Spawls, Patrick Malonza, Beryl Bwong, Vincent Muchai and Victor Wasonga
