Hi Catherine,

It is a wonderful to see a uncommom and rarely seen species of Ibis.

A big thank you to Joseph Kariuki for the photo.

For a 'uncommon' and 'rarely seen' species we had fabulous views of A. Green Ibis on 10 Jan, on the Thiba River, below Castle Lodge, Mount Kenya.

Joseph Kariuki, Paul Buckley and I visited Castle Lodge in search of this species but only in the last moments (at departure!), did we come across a pair out in the open, in the river.  One individual was very close and at first very still keenly looking into the water, then spread its wing as if to sun itself.

Joseph has posted a couple of photos on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NaturesWonderlandSafarisKenya

Best wishes for the new year,
