The last weekend I visited home at Kinangop , unexpected it was warmer than Nairobi for previous weeks,  On Saturday I and my colleague who is a keen birdwatcher  decided to go for several hours picking species to map Kinangop and other part in the pentad in KenyaBirdMap, Also we were surveying Jackson's Widowbird displaying in their arenas as part of my  interest.
We walked through farms where we recorded species like,Hunter's Cisticola,Red-capped lark,Common Stonechat among others, on Grasslands we saw  Rufous-napped Lark,African Qualfinch,Wing-snapping Cisticola before getting to the nearest dam from the  center(murungaru) where we recorded species Spur-winged Goose,African Snipe, and the highlight from the site being two African Black Ducks and Long-tailed Widowbird,White-winged Widowbird,Jackson's Widowbird plus Red-billed Quelea flying/perching on the same flock, unfortunately we had no-quality camera to snap.
On Sunday morning we went  looking for Lesser Jacana where my friend had seen them two weeks ago,we made several stopover before we got to our destination, the dam is located not far from the Friends of Kinangop Plateau community resource center and its surrounded by a portion of grassland and farmlands. On our arrival we saw juvinile African Harrierhawk, aggresive nesting Blacksmith Plover not forgetting to mention a pair of Sharp'S Longclaw carrying food.We never had difficult time looking for Lesser Jacana which gave us enough time to see them,we counted three of them. Last year they we recorded severally  in different season,we will be observing them and will keep the group updated.
Cheers for now,
