Subject: Ideas for Kenya Birding 8
Kenya Birding an annual magazine about birds and birding; sites or places of interest, and conservation news.
We invite you to send in comments, articles, or news that you may wish to appear in the magazine.
Among the very interesting work, and issues raised in this forum is that of the slaughter of migrant species. Have there been studies that give good number estimates, which migration paths (to Africa) most affected, or look at the wider impacts already?
Is there anyone able to write on this subject?
It would also be great to get a brief on the satellite tracking of Amur falcons, but I've been previously unsuccessful. Anyone know someone on that project, I could appeal to?
There have been some very exciting sightings reported to Kenyabirdsnet, and I will choose some of these for print; please bring to my attention a sighting you might have written in, and feel is very special–to make sure I don't miss it.
Other types of articles needed:
• Short personal notes or 'letters' to the editor
• Commentaries or news, in which you could draw attention to a conservation concern or a natural history situation (between 50 and 350 words)
• Longer articles (between 350 and 700 words) or feature articles of 700-900 words
• Images should be high resolution .tif or .jpg files, and can be shared with me using the website: https://www.transferbigfiles.com —send the files to catherine@brilliantlycrafted.com!!
(a) Let me know that you are thinking of contributing, and (b) Plan to submit by Friday 25 April.
Very grateful for your support!
