Subject: Southern Pochard flocks in Kenya

Hi all

We have recently counted at least 1,200 Southern Pochard on the Singida lakes. This is an unprecedented number for a single site in Tanzania and I'm wondering if they have been flooded out of Nakuru and Naivasha.

The Anatadae Atlas gives historical high counts of 2,300 for Naivasha and 1,300 for Nakuru.

many thanks

Neil
