Subject: FW: Sharpe's Longclaw,

On the weekend of 24th March a group of intrepid campers, with special permission from KWS, braved the extreme temperatures of the Northern Aberdares. Entrance was through Shamata Gate and a camp site found at altitude 9,280 ft.

The party consisted of Colin & Nicole Church, Tony & Susie Church, Rowland Minns & Heather Elkins, Patrick & Karen Plumbe, Ann Powys and Nigel Pavitt to whom we are extremely grateful for this stunning picture of Sharpes Longclaw, seen and apparently nesting at an altitude of 8,978 feet with co-ordinates 37N 0221944  UTM 99750532.

Other bird species were hard to find but numbered about 31 and included Green Ibis, although this was not confirmed.

However, all concerned agreed that the voice was very different from Hadada.

Can Hadada be found at that altitude ?
