I recall the time when Ted Goss with Don Hunt captured several Grevy's zebra from Samburu and introduced then in Tsavo East which was managed by David Sheldrick. This happened around 1972. Ted was however, warden of Tsavo West National park at that time.
I wonder if any of you recall this translocation exercise, and whether these zebras may have extended their range into Tsavo West? I think my colleague of those days, Gerald Rilling remembers this exercise being a close friend of the Hunts and a frequent visitor to Samburu where a holding pen was constructed to keep the captured animals for a short while.
