Current situation at Natron, image thanks to Gian.
 
There are two major breeding areas with cones and eggs on the lake, one in the central north and one south of that on the north-eastern edge of the Gelai mudflats , each area covers 2-4 square km of nest sites spread out on small islands.  Whilst there are not many non breeding LF on the fringes of the lake the two main breeding groups consist of between, and at this point an estimate of 100 -120,000 breeding birds. I have accurate imagery which allows you to see the eggs but it will take me time count each image (see image attached of one such site). There are also 3 main groups of fledglings, the largest of which is 2000 ind strong.

I have emailed the FSG without any answer?
