Hi all:

Last week from my office balcony I heard the characteristic call of a Crowned Eagle displaying. I rushed out to watch a Crowned Eagle heading towards Karura Forest, near the Thigiri Ridge side. Simon Thomsett was also watching the same eagle and suggested that they behave this way when their egg has just hatched.

Anyone walking in Karura Forest, please keep an eye for an active Crowned Eagle nest.

Also for those who have not already purchased the latest Swara magazine, I would highly encourage you to buy one as it has a 40+ page special issue dedicated to raptors with some stunning articles and photographs.

Best wishes from a very wet Nairobi.

Munir

Hi all,

Just arrived back in Kenya - great to be back!

Of note today was a displaying Cuckoo-Hawk over Karen Crossroads c.2pm, plus small numbers of Amur Falcon hawking over Langata.

Cheers for now,
Adam
