That is interesting, because they seem to remain reasonably common in Nairobi. Several pairs still in the National park and also a pair bred close to ILRI. The two chicks were regularly to be seen together with parents earlier this year.

Grey Crowned Cranes have now been officially uplisted from VU to EN which means that 50% of the world population is expected to be extinct in the next 10 years!
Please be aware of these birds where ever you see them and try to send records with counts, localities and conservation threats to the list for follow up.
