Subject: Appeal for bird records from Southern Ethiopia



Dear Colleagures,

I believe you are all aware that the Ethiopian Wildlife & Natural History Society is implementing a Birdfair funded project in Southern Ethiopia. This project has a primary focus of trying to save the critically endangered Liben lark from extinction. The project also has another activity of collecting as much information as possible on other endemic and less known species found in the Southern Ethiopia Highlands EBA. We are contacting as many individuals (or groups) as possible requesting records and observations of the White-tailed Swallow Hirundo megaensis, Prince Ruspoli’s Turaco Tauraco ruspolii and Salvadori’s Serin Serinus xantholaemus. These records will build up our database and contribute immensely towards the species action planning task coming up after 2013. EWNHS will acknowledge your contributions and give due credit to contributors if and when it uses your records in any publication. The distribution list I've used is far from being comprehensive and would also like to ask your assistance in distributing this email to others whom you think can help. Thank you in advance.
