Register for the 3th PAOC

Dear Neil Welcome to the 13th Pan-African Ornithological Congress that will be held in Arusha, Tanzania from the 14th to 21st October 2012.
A simple online registration form will take about 10 minutes to fill, register NOW. Early bird registration end on the 30th April 2012. The registration fee for a delegate is only $550 for 7 days.  With access to some of the best parks and birding hotspots in East Africa, the 13th Pan-African Ornithological Congress will provide a fantastic opportunity to see many species that are globally important or range-restricted, as well as a few Tanzanian Endemics.

The 6 day scientific program will begin each day with an address by a Plenary Speaker. The remainder of the daily academic program will consist of symposia, contributed papers, poster sessions.
The Pan-African Ornithological Congress (PAOC) takes place every 4 years and its aims and purpose are to:
  1. Further the study of African birds
  2. Promote the preservation of African birds as an integral part of the African heritage
  3. Foster the appreciation of birds and discussion of African birds in relation to man, and
  4. Disseminate information on African birds through appropriate international meetings (Congresses) and publications (Proceedings of the Congresses).
The previous congress took place on 7-12 September 2008 in Rawsonville, South Africa.
The 13th PAOC will be held in Arusha at the Corridor Springs Hotel, this hotel is in the center of the town within minutes from the hotels that have been selected to provide accommodation for the delegates. Arusha town is the safari capital of east Africa providing an opportunity for delegates to visit  some of the worlds renown wildlife parks such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Arusha, Manyara, Kilimanjaro and Tarangire National Parks. 

Abstracts

Abstracts (300 words) are invited on any aspect of ornithology related to the aims of the PAOC. The submission deadline is 30th April, and we anticipate that decisions will be made by the end of May.
Presentations appropriate to one of the conference symposia should indicate which is most appropriate; more general presentations need not make this choice and if approved by the scientific committee will be allocated to appropriate sessions identified later. Click here to submit abstract> 

Registration

Welcome to the registration form for the PAOC. The early bird registration fee to attend the congress as a delegate is only $550 for the 7 days (for student and spouse rates see in website). This fee will include access to all symposia and presentations, cocktail events, lunches, local shuttle services and an opportunity to visit one of the famous parks in Northern Tanzania for a day of birding.
