The East African Rarities Committee needs to approve all records that are the first for the country and the next 4 records.
In Kenya, the 4th Edition of "Checklist of the Birds of Kenya" (Sep' 2009) is the reference list for those species that needs an approval.
Meanwhile it would be very useful practise to apply these guidelines (attached) to any personal record of interest.
Photographs, esp good ones showing diagnostic features are always VERY helpful.
