Subject: PAOC 13 will now be in Arusha Tanzania

Hi everyone

Due to security concerns PAOC 13 is moving from Nigeria to Tanzania.

It will be held in Arusha from the 14th to 21st October 2012.

The organisation of the congress and the scientific programme is in hand. All necessary information will be made public within the next few months.

Arusha will be far easier to reach for most of you so we expect the best attendance ever.

We look forward to inviting many of you to Tanzania, especially those of you for the first time.

Hopefully the various specialist groups will hold side meetings that will lead towards significant improvements in the conservation status of many populations.

Now is the time to begin organising such meetings.

I also hope this congress will lead to many more reserachers undertaking long term studies in Tanzania. Our knowledge gaps are rather many.

For all of you involved in tourism in Tanzania please ensure you send you web site and email details to

Marc & Jo so these can be included on the congress web site. marc@ei-tz.com and jo@ei-tz.com

Please remember the majority of attendees are researchers and students, not high end tourists.

There will be camping facilities for those wanting to keep costs down and a wide range of low budget through to high end accommodation facilities are available in Arusha.

Yes, our National Parks are expensive (they need to be to protect them) but there are many GREAT BIRDING opportunities outside these areas.

Arusha square list is >640 species.

so....karibuni wote.

Feel free to ask any questions

Neil
