Dear Friends,
As most of you may be aware, I will be leaving Kenya at the end of my assignment by the end of July 2011. If I don’t have another occasion to meet you before my departure, I would like to take the opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for the support and the cooperation you have extended to me during my stay. I have enjoyed birding in Kenya, interacting with most of you, and meeting so many bright personalities and learning from them.
Despite all the challenges of the country’s environment, Kenya has enormous opportunities and capabilities to better protect it. I’m sure most of you can continue to give more support, more innovative ideas and processes to assist Kenya Wildlife Service and Nature Kenya in their challenges.
Birds are important all over the world but especially in Kenya because of the ecosystem and tourism. Everybody has to do everything possible to protect them and to educate the people.
Strasbourg (North-eastern part of France) will be my new place of work and birding. In the future I will continue to send reports from that place. Perhaps this might be less interesting for many of you but it will be important for me to keep a little contact with you.
I will continue to update my website www.bird-picture.eu in the future because I think it’s a wonderful help for many of you (especially the sounds).
During these last 3 years, I managed to photograph 800 species in the country which is, I think, not too bad considering the little time I could spend for birding.
I wish you all the best in the future and always happy birding….
My warmest regards,
Patrick
