Hello,

when we started doing interviews for the www.africanraptors.org
website, I immediately thought about doing an interview with raptor
expert
Simon Thomsett on the African Crowned Eagle (also known as the Crowned
Hawk-eagle or just Crowned Eagle), Stephanoaetus coronatus.

I am happy to announce that we've now published the first part of
Simons answers. Simon did not just answer my questions. He send me a
document with
more than 30 pages and many beautiful pictures - almost a little book
on this spectacular eagle.

Because of it's length, we will publish this in 3 parts. The 2nd part
will be published in early June and the 3rd in late June or early
July.

I want to thank Munir for writing a fascinating introduction about
Simon and of course Simon himself for detailed and fascinating
information about the
Crowned Eagle.

The text contains a huge amount of very important information about
the biology, ecology and conservation of the Crowned Eagle in Africa.
I consider this
a must read for anyone interested in raptor conservation in Africa!

Stay tuned for Part 2!

regards,

Markus
