Subject: Arrival of White Storks

On 26 September a hundred+ White Storks in the Delamere meadows just north of the Naivasha-Nakuru road. Also small groups of (5-7) Great White Pelican circling Lake Naivasha (and good inflows from the Aberdares). Other niceties in the lakeside bush were Scaly-throated Honeyguide, a pair of Grey-backed Fiscal, a juvenile Martial Eagle, Hildebrandt’s Francolins desperately trying to get run over by speeding matatus, a pair of White-headed Barbets exploring a potential nesting hole and the always fun to watch follow-the-leader of the Arrow-marked Babblers.
