would anyone care to comment on this statement ?

There are evidently VERY few (many nil transects) birds in adjacent agricultural land and not many where pastoralists hold sway."
the maximum counted along one of the standard Serengeti NP transects is only 18 birds in 13 years with only 2 other counts above 10 birds (data from Tony Sinclair).
