Dear All,

My name is Stratton Hatfield and I am 18 and live in the Tigoni area. This is my first post so I hope it works.

This morning (November 29th) I went birding in an isolated indigenous forest patch near Limuru. It’s a very small patch and the first time I had ever been there. I birded here alongside Mark Nicholson for about Two hours. Highlights were a single Black-Fronted Bush-Shrike, a pair of Evergreen Forest Warblers that showed very well, and a Black-throated Wattle-eye. The only migrants recorded were a pair of black-caps, a few willow warblers and a flock of European Bee-eaters. Considering the size of the forest I was very surprised at the numbers of White-starred Robins. We probably saw between 5 and 10 scattered around and at one point had three in one view. Greenbuls were also very well represented with a plethora of Yellow whiskered, a few Cabanis and a single Mountain. Montane Orioles and Brown-woodland warblers were also calling in the area.

On arriving home I also had two adult Cuckoo-Hawks and one juvenile flying around the garden.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Good Birding,

Stratton
