Rains bring Dwarf Bitterns
In Nairobi, the Short Rains are making up for the insufficient Long Rains.
Wednesday November 12 was hot and sunny after several days of heavy rain. Nature Kenya’s Wednesday Morning Birdwalk visited Splash Waterworld where we saw a Dwarf Bittern skulking through the flooded grassland between the Splash car park and Uhuru Gardens.
Nick Mwangi and other birders later found two Dwarf Bitterns, one unfortunately with an injured wing.
