Subject: sooty gull moult

Hy everybody,

I am a researcher in ecology and I was in Madagascar in december. A the end of the month, I found an Hemprich gull inside a flock of lesser crested terns south of the island. it was an adult in breeding plumage.
I am wrighting a short note for a malagasy journal to report this observation and I need some details about the moult of continental Sooty Gull to try to understand the origin of that bird.
When  kenyan breeding sooty gulls start to moult toward an eclipse plumage ?
In december I guess Kenya receive many sooty gulls from northern populations (Somalia, Red Sea). Can you make a distinction between kenyan birds and others according to their moult advance ? Does anybody know when somalian birds get their non-bredding plumage ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Cheers
