Subject: Sandwich tern at Nakuru

Greetings.

There was a sandwich tern in non-breeding / winter plumage at Lake Nakuru on 20th November 2007, seen at about 2pm. The bird was sitting on the end of a small muddy promontory, along with a loose flock of grey-headed gulls, with the whole promontory surrounded by lesser flamingos. The yellow tip to the otherwise all-black beak was clearly visible. The bird was seen by several observers.

Best wishes,

Tim
