Nairobi records
Greetings
Nature Kenya’s Wednesday Morning Birdwalk spent a fabulous morning at Paradise Lost off the Kiambu Road on 15 August. Thanks to the management. Highlights included:
White-backed Duck with 2 large ducklings (and African Jacana, Common Moorhen, etc. with young) and newly arrived Common Sandpiper at the seasonal pond in the coffee farm before the Paradise Lost entrance.
African Pygmy Kingfisher and Zanzibar Sombre Greenbul in the thickets bordering the main dam below the waterfall.
Also, in Nairobi National Park on a family outing, two female or immature Red-billed Buffalo-Weaver, just inside the Cheetah Gate. Have there been any other recent records?
Wishing you good birding, Fleur
