Subject: Dead Lesser Flamingoes
Hi Guys:
Simon and I were driving from Narok to Mahi Mahiu
on Friday 18th May and we found the road littered with dead lesser
flamingoes....counted ten birds in all but were sure that they were
more.
We suspect that the flamingoes landed by the road
following a huge rainstrom the previous night and then may have gotten hit by
fast moving vehicles.
Has anyone come across such a phenomenon or knows
of any article that describes why flamingoes land on main roads?
