Ruppell's Vulture with tag..in Laikipia

I am copying this email to several researchers working on predators and other species in Laikipia...as well as to Nick Georgiadis at the Mpala Research Center. They might have some ideas concerning the bird you sighted.

It may be that this birds comes from afar. In that case, Peter Mundy in South Africa might well know something of the project that tagged this vulture. I do not have Peter's current address....but you can probably get it via Google....or from IUCN/SSC. I think Peter heads the IUCN/SSC Vulture Specialist Group...and conducts his own studies on vultures....he is Africa's 'vulture fundi'.

I suggest you check with Dieter Oschadleus <dieter@adu.uct.ac.za> (I know some SA ringers have ringed vultures in Kenya but have never sent me their data) and Simon Thomsett <sthomsett@gmail.com>.

I would like to hear the results.
