Subject: Shaba birding..

Just back from 2 nights at Shaba Nat Reserve north of Isiolo. Birds of most
interest:

Friedmann's Lark Mirafra pulpa was the bird of the trip - with one bird watched
singing and 2 others heard. Am not sure, but possibly only the second record
from Shaba/Archer's Post area? Any ideas anyone? Looked hard for William's Lark
but dipped badly on them...

Other good birds seen included Pangani Longclaw - a single pair of birds
representing a small range extension; 1 pair of Somali Bee-eaters; Violet Wood-
hoopoe; a single imm. Magpie Starling;
